Greening of Detroit Planting in Warrendale a Success

The Greening of Detroit held their latest tree planting in the Warrendale neighborhood this past Saturday. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend, which is a shame because I heard nothing but good things about it from everyone who was there.

Luckily, the crew from the Detroit Regional News Hub was on the scene. Their report and more than a dozen photos from the event are available here.

One of the great things about this that I did not know is that, according to the U.S. Forest Service, having healthy, mature trees on one's property adds an average of 10% to its value. Trees, therefore, are not only good for the environment, they're also good for the bottom line.

My thanks go out to everyone who was there on Saturday. I hope to see some folks at future plantings. The next one in Warrendale will be on Saturday, October 6 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

With so many advantages, you can try growing some amazing trees in your garden or backyard. You will definitely be amazed to find that most of the trees are quite easy to grow. Well- maintained trees can substantially increase the value of your property making you a proud owner. You can grow them for shade and cover from harsh sun during the summers. The best part is that you can put a hammock in your backyard and enjoy reading or lying down on lazy afternoons. There is nothing more relaxing than spending time amidst the beautiful emerald green trees.
