Latin Mass Comes to Detroit's Warrendale Neighborhood

This Sunday, December 11 at 12:15 p.m., Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (7685 Grandville Ave.) will celebrate a mass in the Extraordinary Form, which is also known as the Tridentine Rite. If you want to experience how Mass was celebrated before Vatican II, please plan on attending. Mass will be in the Latin language, complete with beautiful Gregorian Chants.

There are very few places that still offer a Latin Mass. Quite frankly, I think it's cool that one of them will be in my neighborhood.

A short video from PBS about this form of the Catholic Mass is available below.

Congratulations! Latin Mass should be the daily form of the Mass, just like it was before the reform of the Liturgy in 1970. I dont think that the vernacular post Vatican II Mass is really a Mass, it is a protestant celebration.
