5 Murders in 36 Hours

The past two days have been particularly violent in the past two days, with five murders being committed within a thirty-six hour period. Thankfully, none of these murders happened within the Warrendale neighborhood. Regardless, it is unquestionably a cause for concern.

This is particularly troubling since both murders and non-fatal shootings had been down during the tenure of former Chief of Police Warren C. Evans. Now that Mayor Dave Bing forced him to resign and there is a sudden rash of murders, the coincidence is nothing if not troubling.

I wish Interim Chief Ralph Godbee well and pray that these murders prove to be nothing more than a tragic coincidence; not the start of a new trend.
