Cool Warrendale Thing: Getting Recognized

I know this is totally self-serving, even by modern blogosphere standards, but I'm a little excited at the moment. Two different people have stopped me in the past two hours to tell me how much they like the Warrendale (Detroit) Blog.

And no, before any of my smart alecky friends or family members ask, neither of them was my Mom.

There's an old Bohemian proverb that says, "Worldly fame is like grass in the field." I shouldn't let this tiny bit of recognition get to my head. However, it's still super cool when random people on the street take the time to tell you how much they like your work.

Therefore, at risk of setting myself up for a fall later, I take a tiny bit of totally self-serving, self-indulging pleasure in proclaiming the fact that I was recognized by my fans as the Cool Warrendale Thing of the Week.

It's been a pleasure to bring this site to everyone for almost five years now.

And it's been a pleasure to read it! :)

By the way, we will be trekking your way once again sometime this summer to visit my Warrendale inlaws. This time I hope for us to be able to meet you at The Dog House to tell you in person how much we enjoy your blog! :-)
