Friends of the Silver-Haired Bats

My friends at the Friends of the Rouge made an interesting discovery the other day. A silver-haired bat had made its way into their office, which is on the campus of the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Silver-haired bats are rare in Michigan. There have only been 7 confirmed sitings of them throughout the Great Lakes State; almost all of those cases have been in the Upper Peninsula or the northern Lower Peninsula.

Personally, I think the reason why he showed up in their office is simply that the little guy wanted to be a star on YouTube.

According to an email that I received, U of M Mammology Professor Phil Myers has agreed to take care of the bat until it's warm enough to release him back into the wild.
