Weekly Update on the Southfield Freeway

My updates on the status of work along the Southfield Freeway (M-39) have almost become a weekly feature for this blog. I suppose that's a good thing because, pretty much every week, there's something new to report about about the project.

The past week wasn't as productive as normal. The long 4th of July holiday weekend drastically cut into the amount of work that happened there since my last report - although I don't think anyone will begrudge the folks at MDOT for such a delay.

Regardless, the center supports for the Paul Street Bridge were completed (see photo above). Excavation looks like it's about done for the Tireman Road Bridge (see photo below). For both bridges, they have a lot materials on hand - most notable is that heavy green wire that they use as a frame for the bridge as well as the iron beams.

It looks like I'll have a lot more to talk about next week.
