Breaking News: Woman Kidnapped at Gunpoint on Ashton

According to neighbors and sources within the Detroit Police Department, a single mother was kidnapped at gunpoint from her home on the 6400 block of Ashton Avenue at approximately 5:00 a.m. this morning. The children, who were present when this attacked happened, were not physically harmed. One of the children reportedly called their grandmother after the abductors left. She, in turn, called the Detroit police.

The victim moved into the area less than 24 hours prior, according to neighbors. As such, very few details are available about her at this time.

The Detroit Police Department is investigating this incident. Three marked squad cars were on the scene earlier. Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation are also involved at this point.

WDIV-TV is reporting that the alleged abductor in this case is the victim's ex-boyfriend. No word yet on an arrest in the case or the current whereabouts of the woman.

According to neighbors, the woman in this case is currently back home with her children. While she does not want to talk with anyone regarding this incident, she does appear to be in good physical condition.
