Details to Be Released

The Michigan Supreme Court announced this morning that they were unanimously in support of compelling the City of Detroit to release various documents pertaining to the text-messaging scandal that Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick currently finds himself embroiled in.

John E. Johnson, Jr., Corporation Counsel for the City of Detroit, issued a statement earlier today in which he argued that this would set a precedent that would hinder the City's ability to ever enter into another mediation agreement. The full-text of Mr. Johnson's statement is available on-line here.

The attorneys that I talked to regarding this unanimously agree that Mr. Johnson's argument is complete nonsense. However, I'm simply glad that this portion of the ordeal is over.
